Armen Iskenderian

It is with great sadness that I have to inform everyone that on January 12th at 12:21pm Armen lost his long battle with lung cancer. The cancer had spread from his lungs to his adrenal glands, and after so many rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, his body failed even though his will remained strong. Up to his last day he was determined to get strong enough to go after his cancer again.

Our family is extremely grateful for all of the kind wishes and support that Armen received from all of you over the years. I hope each of you will remember your favorite Armen story (or painfully bad joke) and laugh, because that is the way my father would have wanted it.

Once we make final arrangements for the funeral I will post that information here.

There are many things I will remember about Mr. Iskenderian. He had an inviting way about him that always made me feel like one of the extended Iskenderian family. Perhaps it was because my generous eye brows were familiar to him, but more likely it was because he had a heart of gold. My earliest memory of Mr. Iskenderian was at some family gathering in Westwood. We were all still in college. Can’t say I remember the occasion, but I do remember Mr. Iskenderian greeting me warmly at the door and offering me a Sam Adams. I’m sure I wasn’t 21 yet, but I thought, Saro’s Dad is really cool. Though I haven’t spent much time with him over the years, he will always remain one of my favorite Dad’s from my extended BC family.
